Puerto Lempira : Profile
This town is located on the shores of the Caratasca Lagoon and although the river entrance is shallow, sailing boats of up to 5 or 6ft draft should have no problems. It is approximately 30 miles north of the border with Nicaragua. The main industry here is fishing.

The Port Captain and Immigration office
are both in the same building and are both open 8:00 to about 16:00, Mondays to Fridays and oon Satudays 08:00 to 11:30. All officials are friendly and professional and clearance is straightforward.

There is a long wooden projecting into tha lagoon. Depth alongside is uncertain, but suitable for landing with a dinghy.
