Kaunakakai : Profile
This is the only real harbour on Molokai and lies in the centre of the south coast.
Position 21°04.6'N. 157°02.1'W.
This is a sheltered harbour. The reef protects it from the seas but the wind can be fairly strong at times.
The entrance through the reef is opposite the town and there are sufficient lit leading marks and buoys to allow entrance at night.
Anchor in the northern part of the turning basin in about 6m and thick mud. Dinghy ashore to the launching ramp, where the tender can be left while ashore, and visit the Harbour Master whose office is on the quay near the fuel tanks.
Toilets and cold showers.
