  Kaneohe : Profile

Location

This bay is on the north east coast of Oahu and is protected by the Mokapu Peninsula.

Position 21°31.05'N, 157°48.1'W.

Docking

This bay is very calm and sheltered. Together with the crystal clear water, it makes a very attractive anchorage.

There are four marinas here as well as four anchorage areas. He'eia Kea harbour and Kane'ohe YC are the best berthing options for visitors.

After anchoring for 72 hours, a temporary anchoring permit must be obtained. The HM at the He'eia Small Boat Harbour issues these for 30 days at a time, upto a maximum of 90 days. It is also advisable to check with him regarding the suitability of your chosen anchorage.

The best place to leave the dinghy is at the canoe club at He'eia Kea.
