It is forbidden to approach within 200m of the naval establishment on the south side of the bay, Ormos Lakki.
Leros is a green, wooded island, with rounded hills instead of the harsher landscape of some of the other islands in the group.
The Port of Lakki is now very well protected by a new sea wall.
