Full service marina. Code required to access pontoons. 120 berths. Metred water & electricity to pontoons. No repair facilities. Laundry service. Clearance facilities. The marina is peaceful beacuse it is futherest from the airport, but there is an unlit floating boom across the entrance between 2100 hours to 0830 hours.

Docking

The only docking facilities are those at the Marina Bay and Queensway Quay Marinas. Currently (2008) both have construction works underway and so are not as clean and quiet as they might be.

The entrance to Queensway Quay marina has been moved to the northern end of the breakwater. All marinas offer reduced winter rates.

The shortage of berthing for yachts is a current problem but it may be eased by the opening in 2010 of a large new marina just over the border, on the west side of the Rock, at La Linea.

The marina previously known as Sheppard's has been sold to a developer and is now closed to visitors. It is expected to re-open sometime in the future as the Ocean Village Complex, with a small marina. Sheppard's chandlery continues to operate from the same site, but the boatyard repair facilities have been moved to Coaling Island.

Anchoring
Update September 2009. Following a period of no anchoring being permitted due to the construction of the new marina at La Linea, cruisers report that you can now anchor in the same area once again due to construction slowing down. Anchor on the EAST side of the fishing port at La Linea (but the WEST side of Gibraltar). Tie your dinghy up at the little fishing port for 5 Euros a day.
