  Rostock(Warnemunde) : Profile

Docking

Warnemunde is the holiday resort and ferry terminal at the entrance of the river leading the 6 miles up to Rostock. The entrance is possible both day and night, being well marked with no off-lying dangers.

Use the western side of the entrance, which leads to the yacht harbour and also the fishing harbour (Alter Strom) at Warnemunde.

The channel up to Rostock is well marked although many buoys are unlit, so a daylight passage is advisable. There are a number of small yacht harbours on the east bank at Gehlsdorf but these are not so conveient for the city. Futher on there are a number of berthing options on the south bank, including the town quay (Stadthafen). The facilities here are being rapidly improved.
