There are several other internet access points in the town. Also wireless internet.
Suva post office is open 0800-1630 Monday to Friday. They will hold mail for up to 1 month. (Yacht in Transit s/v noonsite / Counter Delivery / GPO / Suva - Fiji Islands)
The major express delivery services (FedEx, DHL and UPS) are all represented in Suva.

Several Money exchange services also maintain bureaux in town.

Suva is one of the best provisioning centres among the Pacific islands and has an excellent fresh produce market. A visit to the Municipal Market, close to the centre, is a unique experience. Kava roots can be bought here for the ritual gifts to village chiefs and also powdered kava, which may be more convenient to carry on a small boat.
There are several well stocked supermarkets, with the best selections at New World, MH, Food4less, FoodTown. Most will offer free delivery and wholesale prices.
Cost-U-less (Costco subsidiary) is located outside city center, opposite USP (University of South Pacific)
Excellent bread and rolls can be found at the numerous outlets of The Hot Bread Kitchen.
June 2009: Suva businesses have to close at 6pm now unless they apply weekly and pay $20.00 for permits. This applies to bars, grocery stores (which mostly closed at 7 pm) and corner shops (and possibly gas stations).

Major international flights will arrive and depart from Nadi airport. You can take daily flights to/from Nadi or go by road. It takes about 3-4 hours by road depending your vehicle. Taxi cost about F$150 (5pax), Express bus F$20/pers , local bus F$12/pers. Nadi in the west of Viti Levu is the main international airport with flights to many Pacific destinations as well as Australia, New Zealand, US, European and Asian destinations. The frequency of flights to Auckland means that whatever cannot be obtained or repaired in Suva can be quickly dealt with in New Zealand.

There are local buses to all parts of Viti Levu and which can be waved to a stop anywhere. There are also express buses which stop only in villages and towns, and tourist buses running twice daily between Nadi and Suva.
Car hire is easily available and several international companies are represented (Hertz, Avis, Budget etc) as well as local companies. NOTE! Driving is on the left.
Taxis are cheap and plentiful, but negotiate the price before starting your journey and make sure you have plenty of change as the driver usually carries very little.

Simple and inexpensive (backpacker facilities) to luxurious rooms, plenty of choice in Suva area.
You can access several activities (scuba, river tours, white water rafting, ...) by going to Navua, Pacific Harbour or even Sigatoka and be back in Suva the same day.

From the Tradewinds anchorage you have several hikes which offer good panoramas. You can also dinghy quite far upriver at mid to high tide.
You can also take numerous different inexpensive bus rides around different parts of Suva.
