Tallinn : Profile
Tallin is the biggest port on the Baltic Sea. The new marina is located in the Old City Harbour, right in the heart of the City.
Entry to the marina is through the port, heavy with cruise ship and passenger ferry traffic. Before reaching the outer breakwater of the harbour, yachts should call the Old City Harbour Port Control on VHF Ch: 14 for permission to enter.
Small crafts may enter the Port Basin and depart the navigation channel only during the green traffic light.
Clearance is possible at the Old City Marina, who will summon clearance officials on request.
In May 2010 a new yacht harbour - the Old City Marina - was opened in Tallin, about 10 minutes' walk from the City's historic "old town". The harbour facilities are reported to be modern and well maintained, and the location couldn't be better.
Pirita (5km from Tallin Old City) offers 2 marinas for berthing and clearance is possible here.
Other harbours in the Gulf of Tallinn (Rohuneeme harbour, Miiduranna harbour, Vanasadam, Patareisadam, Kalasadam, Lennusadam, Peetri harbour, Miinisadam, Hundipea harbour, Paljassaare harbour, Katariina quay) do not serve pleasure craft.
