I would like to report that if you clear into the DR at Ocean World Marina, there were no hassles with the authorities. I would like to commend Roberto, the harbormaster, for making this a smooth operation. I found the stay at Ocean World pleasant and the staff very helpful. There was also a free bus to the supermarket which had most of what you would need.

The Ocean World Marina also has a number of different attractions and I understand from others that the nightclub act was worthwhile. In all a good experience.

Ocean World is on the north coast of the DR and was handy to come in. The entrance is well marked with buoys, however, if there were strong winds from the north I would try Puerto Plata instead.
