Manzanillo : Profile

Location

This large sheltered bay is on the north coast. The town of Pepillo Salcedo, in the southern corner of the bay, has a commercial port and jetty .

This clean, neat town provides a useful stop for provisioning and other services.

Position 19° 42'36"N,71° 44'37"W.

Clearance

This is a port of entry and all the officials are in the town.

Docking

The abandoned Canadian ferry is an unmissable landmark for this anchorage.

Anchorages
Give the ferry a wide berth and anchor behind the point. The bottom can be weedy here.

There is a beach nearby where you can land the dinghy. This is part of the National Point.

In the SW part of the bay, southeast of the commercial pier, is a quiet saltwater lagoon where you can anchor in about 3m.

There are two cafes on the shore and a small village two miles away.
