Rab Town (Rab) : Profile

Location

The town of Rab lies on the west coast of the island of Rab. This island lies just off the mainland, south of the island of Krk and east of Otok Cres. The western side of the island is green and fertile but the eastern side is scoured by the bora which is particularly strong here.

Position 44°45.5'N, 14°46'E (Rab Town).

Docking

Berth in the marina as directed. Good shelter, but in strong southerly winds, i.e. a (sirocco, there can be quite a surge in this harbour and it maybe advisable to go elsewhere.

Open from March to October. All facilities, laundry, supermarket, currency exchange, chandler, restaurant, 10 ton crane, repair services and workshop.
It can get choppy on the pontoons in a southerly wind.

Small private marina in centre of the long Barbat Channel before the port of Rab. Open all year. Capacity for 40 wet berths and 40 dry berths. Max depth 4-5m. Services, workshop, 30t travel lift and a slipway.
