Tianjin : Profile
The city is on the Hai He River, and is at the northern end of the Grand Canal of China, which connects the Huang He and Yangtze rivers. It is 137 kilometers (85 miles) southeast of Beijing. The commercial ports are some 50km away, on the Bohai Gulf coast of the Pacific.
