San Miguel : Profile

Location

The distictive shape of Montana Amarilla (Yellow Mountain) marks the western limit of the large bay. This is a tourist resort close to the southern tip of Tenerife where a range of sporting activities are available.

Position 28°0.1'N, 16°37'W.

Docking

There is now a useful, new marina here on the south coast of the island. Take care at the entrance since it is narrow and a yellow submarine, accompanied by a white motor vessel, operates out of here.

New marina 2010, part of a resort complex east of Las Galletas. All facilities, fuel, laundry, dive centre and snack bar on the dockside. Most types of repairs possible. Staff friendly and helpful and most speak English. 60 ton travel hoist, shore storage available. Security gates at the pontoon entrances. There is a good chandlery in nearby Los Abrigos.
