Kingston : Profile
Kingston, Ontario, is the centre of a great cruising area. Situated in the NE corner of Lake Ontario it gives access to the area known as Thousand Islands, as well as the St Lawrence Seaway (and eventually the North Atlantic), the canal system linking to the lakes and rivers of the north, and to the south, across the Lake, to New York State and to the Intracostal Highway, a system of canals, rivers and lakes leading all the way to Florida. This place has a lot to offer!
This is a Port of Entry.
The four major marinas all have comprehensive facilities and there are dozens of smaller ones. Many of the islands have anchorages as well as docks (jetties) and toilet facilities.
