Nieuwpoort : Profile
The port is located one and half miles up the River Yser. There are now three yacht basins,Ljzervaarders, Vlotkom and Novus Portus. Harbour master: Tel. 058 23 30 00, VHF Ch 09, 16.
This port lies on the North Sea coast at the mouth of the Yser River. It is a fishing port, an industrial centre, and also a beach resort. Although the entrance is fairly narrow, is it accessible in all weathers.
The modern marinas here offer all facilities and the port also gives access the the Belgian Inland Waterway network for those boats prepared to de-mast.
