 Horta : Repair Facilities
There is a 25-ton travelift and a crane can be hired in an emergency to lift a yacht on to the main wharf. A new and much larger ramp is being built in the commercial harbour.
Repair facilities are constantly improving, but still only minor repairs can be undertaken locally.

Opening Hours: daily 0800-1200 and 1300-1700 (in summer until 2000)
Position 38º31.9' N, 28º37.5' W. 300 berths. 20 ton travel lift, fuel, dry docks, repairs.
Water & electricity to all berths included in fee (note MAYS sell transformers so you can connect to European power). There is a utilities block in the northern part of the marina with laundry, showers. Telephone, fax and email services are available at the marina office. Bar. Yacht club.

Based in the marina at Horta. Portuguese, French, English and Flemish spoken.
Engine repairs, welding, rigging, guardinage and delivery services.
With the rebuiding of Faial, after the earthquake, carpintarias (carpenters) proliferate, mainly around Horta and at some country villages. The best thing is to check with the marina office, when necessary.
